Oh, March! Are you really still only March?! Honestly the past couple months feels like about 5 years gone by with all that’s happening.
In January I wrote that 2020 would be the year of re-defining ourselves globally, societally, individually.
2 months later and there is a global pandemic which is forcing the whole world to stop…forcing everyone to re-evaluate and change behaviours.
It’s also making the fact that we are all connected quite glaringly obvious.
Everything in existence is so intimately intertwined. There is not one single thing or being that is separate from any other single thing or being. If there is one thing I gained from my near-death experience more than anything else, it’s this knowledge.
WE are all ONE.
However most humans have forgotten this truth, instead focussing on the identities that have differentiated us.
One thing about COVID-19 is that it knows not race or religion, gender or sexual orientation. It doesn’t care about what country you are from or what language you speak. It doesn’t care about your political views or your economic status. It only seems to care that you are human. If only we could be like COVID-19 in that respect. It has come to be a great equalizer of humanity, inviting all of us to think of one another the way it does – as human. Not as “Chinese” or “Muslim” or “Black” or “Gay” or “Republican”.
Human. All equal. All one.
I can think of no better point from which to re-define the world, re-define society, re-define who I am as an individual than from a point of equal standing with all of creation and an understanding of our utterly profound interconnectedness with one another.
We are all valuable threads in the miraculous tapestry of existence. The fact that I may be a blue thread while you may be a red thread is exactly what makes the tapestry so beautiful!
Do not be afraid. Things are seldom as they appear. Take this opportunity and go within. It’s all there.
Loving you from my end of the magnificent tapestry that is us,
Lara
